Tart - New Pic

I previously wrote about Tart, a 12+ year old girl that was abandoned after her owners moved. I got to spend some more time with this old lady yesterday. Tart doesn't stand much of a chance compared to the younger and prettier kitties. She is scraggly looking, has greasy fur, and is a bit scrawny. She is also just the sweetest little thing that loves affection. She is still full of purrs and chirps in delight when getting a good scratch. I went to bed last night imagining how happy she would be in her own home, curled up on a couch and snoozing the day away.

Update: Tart has been adopted!

LOL, Heather, she is not an old lady! I bet she will do well with some decent food and lots of good scratches. Sub-Q's are no big deal if they become necessary.

You are doing a superb job of profiling these little sweethearts.

Just home, and Tart is cooling out on some thick towels in my bathroom right now before being introduced to 14 year old Molly, who is about the same size and temperament (so far). Both are CRF although Tart seems to be healthier. No one knows how old she is - maybe 15. It was a sad story of abandonment...

Tart was chirping when she got brushed, then she purred when she tucked into a dish of k/d. What a sweetheart.

Tart got checked out with Dr. Downer at Bloor Animal Hospital this evening. She's amazingly fit for an old lady; we figure she is at least 15, which is over 75 in human years. She doesn't have many teeth left though!

Dr. Downer commented that the THS vets had done a very thorough job of assessing Tart and giving her shots and dentistry.

Tart has adopted the dogs' bed. Maybe it smells good to her...

I have a cat that had been taken away from her
mom too young. She was scraggly with greasy fur.
Finally after two years she has put on a bit of weight
and has a lovely shiny, soft coat.

It's Tart's excuse to be brushed. BTW, she met the dogs (shiba inu's) last evening. The 12 y/o dog slept on the rug and Tart was snoozing in the dog bed 2 feet away, ignoring her.
