Laura

Laura is a big cat. And by big I mean gargantuan.

She was surrendered to the THS in the middle of last year, and adopted shorty thereafter. Her new owners brought her back because they thought something was wrong with her legs.

Not surprisingly, the vets determined that there was nothing wrong with her legs and her troubles walking were a result of her weight.

It takes a bit of coaxing to get her to actually move, but once she is up she LOVES to be scratched. Unlike most fat cats, she does not have any petting intolerance at all. She also lives in the adoptions office and is a staff and volunteer favourite. Kind of like the fat kid in the school yard, she sometimes gets picked on by the less obese fat cats, but she couldn't care less. Her special needs should be fairly obvious.

Update: Laura has been adopted!

I've got a big boy like Laura at home too! He's hilarious. I adopted Radio at THS about 3 years ago and he has been the best little buddy anyone could ask for. He lost about 5lbs after his first year home (which I can only attribute to the stress of being caged).
Everyone loves Radio and his big-ness. He's not very active but he loves to play-fight while sprawled on the couch. He will however, jump and run around at the sound of the can opener :)
I would love to have Laura but Radio is unfriendly with other cats - so someone please adopt Laura! I promise you'll love having a fat cat!
