Bruce

Bruce is a 5 year old neutered male, and one of the most gorgeous, sweetest cats you’ll ever meet. He originally came to the shelter as a stray in January 2009 and was adopted shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, his new family returned him after only a few months because they weren’t able or willing to help him with his issues. Bruce suffers from anxiety, and he gets really upset if his family leaves him alone for long period of time, if furniture gets moved around, or when any major changes occur. In his last home, when he got upset he would pee outside of his litter box, sometimes even on the furniture. His family didn’t really try to work with him on this, and only gave him a covered litter box with one type of litter. He was never offered a choice to see if he preferred other things that would help him be more consistent.
He is looking for a special foster-to-adopt home. He needs a quiet, stable home with no other animals and no children. Ideally it would be with somebody retired or someone that works from home. All tests have been negative, but just in case there’s an underlying medical cause for his poor litter habits, the vets at the shelter have approved him to be fostered for the first month in his new home. This way, if anything pops up he can be treated at the shelter before he is adopted!
Update: Bruce has found a foster home!
